A Time For Thanks

It’s been a big year for me after a couple very rough ones and today I’m taking the time to celebrate all the many blessings in my life. If the hard times I’ve experienced have taught me nothing else, I know that life is a gift that is not promised long term and that there are more things to be grateful for than you can count if you know where to look. Here is a short list that doesn’t come close to listing them all:

My family – From my wonderful husband, our amazing son, my ninety-seven year old grandmother, my marathon-running sister all my in-laws, my uncles and aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews, and Jimmy – I am so grateful for you. Thank you for loving me no matter what, listening to me talk endlessly about my books, supporting me always

and accepting who I am warts and all.

Loved Ones Who Have Passed A special moment of reflection and gratitude for my mother, grandfather, godmother and friend. I miss you all every day, but take comfort in the time we were blessed to have. Nothing fills the hole left in my life with your passing, but I know you’re all watching over me and that is a great comfort.

Good Health– Not only mine, but the health of all my friends and family is one of the greatest blessings.

Friends – Friends from pre-school, grammar, high school and beyond. Book club ladies and neighbors, school-mom friends and choir friends – you know who you are. Thank you for making me laugh, giving me a hug when I need one and being there. I hope all know how much you mean to me.

I Have NO Idea Why This Photo Is Upside Down. I Can’t Fix It 🙂

Coffee – Let’s face it. I wouldn’t be a mother, wife ,author, mother, or functioning human without my daily cuppa joe.

Cheeseburgers – Do you need any more proof that God exists? God created man, man created cheeseburger and it was good.

My Agent and Publisher – Without these people willing to take a chance on an unknown mom from Southern California, I’d never be an author. I appreciate your time, energy and investment in me.

Sweatpants – the pandemic has given me a new affinity for these soft, comfortable pants.

Music– It’s awesome.

Alcohol – Also awesome.

Phoebe– The best writing buddy, distraction and hype-person all rolled in one. She always makes me feel like a big deal when I come home, cheers me up when I’m blue and makes me laugh.

Happy Tuesday💕and Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
