Grateful

I have so many things for which to be grateful. I try to be aware of my blessings every day because being conscious of all the good things around me makes dealing with life’s challenges a little easier. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to make a list of all the things I’m grateful for in my life. Here are just a few:

Family & Friends  – my family and friends mean everything to me. They hold me up when I’m at my lowest, they celebrate my victories and they make me laugh to the point where I can barely breathe. And I’m always ready to do the same for them. I’m never truly alone because my family and friends are always just a phone call away. Life wouldn’t be as fun or bearable without them.

Health – both my own and that of the people I love. It’s such an unsung blessing that makes every day a gift.

Writing – I never imagined how much joy writing would bring me. Sure there’s aggravation, stress and doubt that go along with it, but it brings me more happiness than I thought possible. Before I started writing, I had no idea that telling a story is something I would enjoy so much. I can’t mention writing without being grateful for my amazing Agent Diane Nine and stellar publisher Rand-Smith. Without either of them, Dani Truehart would exist only on my computer. Their belief and dedication made my books a reality and I am forever grateful that they took a chance on me.

Phoebe – This picture says it all.

Cheeseburgers – simply the best.

Books – maybe even better than a cheeseburger. I can escape my reality any time I want just by opening a book. What could be more perfect?

Coffee – giver of energy, waker of minds! My days don’t really begin until I have a delicious cup of coffee. Some might call that a problem, but I like to think of it as a liquid soulmate.

Music – whether I’m singing with my choir, at a concert or just listening in my car, music is one of my favorite things in the world. A song for every mood, music can touch your soul without uttering a single word. It’s an ancient way to communicate, worship and tell stories. I need music much like I need books and coffee.

The Ocean – sitting on the beach, paddle boarding, swimming or just driving by the ocean with the air thick with brine, the ocean is a surefire way to lighten my mood and put my life in perspective. It’s so vast it’s hard to stay wrapped up in yourself for too long while you look at it.

Champagne – makes everything a celebration and we definitely need more celebration in life.

The Incredible Year My Books Have Had – It’s been an outstanding year for this author. I had my first Barnes & Noble in-store book signing event both my books are receiving great reviews and can now be found in local libraries around the country.

RISING STAR has been a finalist in four different book contests this year alone and has just been awarded Best Book in The Category of Performing Arts by the American Writing Awards 2022!

So I have a lot to be thankful for this Thursday. I hope you do too.

Happy Thanksgiving🦃
