I can’t believe it’s finally here!! FALLING STAR, the final installment of THE RISE AND FALL OF DANI TRUEHART trilogy is available today to the world. I can’t stop smiling! This series has been almost twelve years in the making and I am beyond thrilled that fans will find out what happens to Dani after that crazy cliffhanger in BURNING BRIGHT. I really can’t wait to hear what you think! And yes, there are far too many exclamation points in this paragraph for someone my age but on my book’s Pub Day, I think it’s OK.
Who made that blackmail video? Does anyone die in the accident? Can Dani still have a career after such a huge public scandal? Does the Truehart Nation support their Queen or turn on her? Does Dani go to jail? All of these questions are answered and more. This book came out a little later than I expected, but the extra time was needed to perfect the story and I am extremely proud of how it turned out.
But you want to know the best part? There is so much backstory that was cut out of this series: how Jodi and Don met, Martin and Jenner’s tumultuous history, Dani and Geena’s estranged relationship with her grandmother and Martin’s experience as a closeted teen pop superstar. All of these storylines and more will be included in the television pitch that I’m working on. There will be something for everyone in this TV series and I really hope I can see it become a reality.
But I’m going to need your help to catch the attention of Hollywood, so I have a big ask of all my readers out there: can you help spread the word about this series? The more social media posts and reviews I can get about my series books, the better chance I have of snagging the eye of a production company. Building social media hype takes time, so I’m starting early before the pitch is even finished. I want to create a big buzz about the series before I start pitching.
If you’re up for the challenge, here are some easy ways you can help:
Social Media Posts – Any and all posts hyping the books, maybe your review of the books or bookmail posts of you receiving your order are an amazing way to spread the word. Maybe tag your favorite celebrity book club or book store to make sure they see it. It’s a free and easy way to spread the word.
Your Local Library – Request that your library carry the series. You can do it online by visiting their website or stop by the checkout desk and talk to your librarian. It’s a great way to make the books free for readers around the world and doesn’t cost a dime.
Leave a Review – Amazon, GoodReads, BookBub, Walmart, Barnes & Noble, Target, Waterstones or wherever you buy your books. Every review helps the books get noticed. If you don’t feel comfortable writing, you can just leave a star rating. If I can hit fifty reviews on Amazon, they will include my books in the recommendation algorithm which would be a huge boost. More eyes on the books leads to more readers…
Make It Your Next Book Club Pick – An easy way to get people talking about the series is by making it your next book club pick. For any book club that’s interested, I’d be happy to Zoom in or stop by to answer questions, share details about the story, my writing process or my time in entertainment.
Order Copies From Your Local Bookstore – Local bookstores want to stock their shelves with what their customers want. Request that they carry all of your favorite authors – maybe I can be one of them?
Dealers Choice – Maybe you have an idea not listed here: giving a book to the reader in your life, donating to the free little library in your town, requesting I speak at your mom’s club or writing group. Any and all help is appreciated. This is a dream I cannot achieve on my own, so I appreciate any help you might consider giving.
Will this show get made into a television series? It’s hard to say, but I hope so. I truly believe in the adage that you miss all of the chances in life that you don’t take. Who knew I’d become an award-winning author of three books with an amazing agent and publisher? It was a wild dream when I first started writing, but look how wonderfully it has turned out. I am not spending too much time worrying about the result of my pitch. I am only focused on trying my hardest, to create the best television pitch possible. I love a good challenge and this is certainly a big one.
As always, none of this would be happening without the support and energy of you, the reader. Thank you to my family, friends and all the readers out there who have taken a chance on this unknown writer with a pop music tale to tell. Chasing dreams is what makes life fun and I am so grateful to all of you for supporting me in my dreams.
Happy FALLING STAR Pub Day!📚💕
